Nomenclature for fields in non-supersymmetric models
In contrast to supersymmetric models, there is no strict convention for the first letter in the names of fermions and scalars. However, for gauge fields the following conventions exists:
- Vector bosons must have
V
as first letter - Ghosts names are derived from vector boson and start always with
g
Otherwise, the conventions are the same as for supersymmetric models:
- Particles carry in general a list with indices, which can be
-
generation
: For all particles which appear in more than one generation -
lorentz:
For all particles carrying a Lorentz index -
charge:
For all fields which are charged under a unbroken, non Abelian gauge group
-
- Antiparticles are assigned via
-
conj
: scalars, Weyl spinors, vector bosons -
bar
: Dirac spinors, ghosts
