 * this applies both in the parser for the transceiver, and in the buffer
   reader used for analysis of data
 * any new event is considered a scaler event until a non-scaler module
   is found in the event
 * this allows to test mesytec::event::is_scaler_event() in order to know
   if the event contains ONLY scaler data or not
