# ORACLE Cluster
The [ORACLE cluster](https://oracle-cluster.fr/) is a grouping of seven laboratories and WEAMEC that integrates engineering sciences, digital sciences and human and social sciences.

The NExt ecosystem brings together several laboratories with complementary disciplinary approaches (law, economics, geography, engineering and digital sciences) and already strong expertise in the maritime environment. Their involvement in offshore wind energy is more heterogeneous. Consequently, the actions planned in the ORACLE cluster are adapted to this situation, but follow common objectives:
* Develop a multidisciplinary approach
* Share tools and databases

* Promote a holistic approach to problems.

These objectives are essential to reducing the cost of wind energy, the key to accelerating the deployment of offshore wind power. The approach will also enhance the overall visibility of NExT researchers within the wind energy scientific community. The strategy employed aims to take advantage of the dynamics of the core group of researchers already active and recognized in regional and European networks to facilitate the integration of new researchers into these networks, as well as to initiate the sharing of data and tools that can benefit the ORACLE cluster community. ## Users community
Amongst members of the clusters, there are many users of the OpenFAST software. In order to share learning resources, productivity tools and numerical models of wind turbines, we have decided to set up a GitLab repository.

## Ressources to work with OpenFAST
OpenFAST is a multi-physics, middle fidelity solver that can be used to model wind turbines. Its capacities range from a single blade to a full farm, from a steady environment to a fully developped sea-state with turbulent wind. For more information, see our [Introduction to OpenFAST](/lheea/oracle/documentation/-/wikis/Introduction-to-OpenFAST) page.
